The Architecture

Four rotors. Redundancy engineered into every layer.

TA_AERO 01 pairs a carbon-and-aluminum airframe with a quad-rotor propulsion layout and a triple-redundant flight computer — built so that no single failure ends the flight.

01 / Flight Computer

Triple-redundant control core

A proprietary flight computer with triple-redundant IMUs and onboard edge-AI compute for real-time flight-envelope protection — built and validated in-house, not adapted from a hobby-grade controller.

02 / Sensing

360° obstacle-sensing array

Full-hemisphere sensing during hover, approach, and landing, feeding the flight computer obstacle data optical cameras alone would miss.

03 / Power

Swappable 13 kWh battery

A field-accessible battery rail lets you swap a depleted pack for a charged one in under two minutes — no tools, no waiting on a charge cycle.

04 / Structure

Carbon shell, aluminum core

A bolted aluminum tube frame carries the structural load; carbon fiber panels handle aerodynamic surfacing. Every gram is budgeted against the Part 103 gross weight ceiling.

05 / Propulsion

Four independent drive units

Each rotor arm carries its own motor and ESC on an isolated power path. Loss of one motor stays within a recoverable flight envelope.

06 / Safety

Ballistic parachute, standard

A whole-aircraft recovery parachute ships as standard equipment, layered on top of motor and ESC redundancy — not sold as an option.

The Regulatory Path

Why this aircraft doesn't need a certificate — or a license.

Type-certified eVTOL programs are years and hundreds of millions of dollars from first delivery. TA_AERO 01 takes the ultralight path instead: a category that already exists, with rules that are already final.

No airworthiness certification

FAR Part 103 exempts compliant single-seat ultralights from FAA type and airworthiness certification entirely.

No pilot's license

Part 103 aircraft require no FAA pilot certificate or medical. We provide mandatory owner training regardless.

No aircraft registration

No N-number, no registration filing — the same exemption that covers powered parachutes and ultralight fixed-wing today.

Weight-gated, not politics-gated

Eligibility comes down to an engineering number: empty weight under 254 lb (115 kg). It's verifiable, not negotiable.

Operating limits still apply. Part 103 ultralights may not be flown over congested areas, require VFR conditions, and are subject to airspace authorization like any other aircraft. TheArsenale provides a mandatory training program with every delivery, and buyers are responsible for verifying compliance and insurance in their state before flight.
Ownership

From reservation to first flight.

TheArsenale is the U.S. delivery and support partner bringing this airframe to American owners — importing, inspecting, and preparing every aircraft before it reaches you.

01

Reserve your position

A refundable-deposit reservation secures your place in the delivery queue and locks your configuration pricing.

02

Configuration & balance

Confirm your build options and complete payment ahead of your production slot.

03

Manufacturing

Your aircraft is built to order at our manufacturing partner's facility in Shenzhen, China, under the same process used for aircraft already flying in the U.S. and Europe.

04

Import & inspection

TheArsenale handles customs clearance and import, then inspects every aircraft against Part 103 weight and performance limits before it ships to you.

05

Delivery & training

Your aircraft arrives with a mandatory owner training program to bring you to solo proficiency — no license required, but no shortcuts either.

Company

Built to put personal flight within reach.

TheArsenale exists to make personal vertical flight a real, ownable thing — not a decade-long certification program or a billion-dollar air-taxi bet. We identify airframes that already fly, already comply with the rules that matter, and bring them to American owners with the import, inspection, and training work done right.

TA_AERO 01 is built in partnership with our manufacturing partner in China. Every unit is inspected against FAR Part 103 limits before it reaches a U.S. customer.

Our approach is deliberately narrow: one aircraft, one regulatory category, done properly. As the ultralight eVTOL category matures, so does our production and support infrastructure — training, spare parts, and service, built around owners who fly for the first time without ever sitting a pilot's exam.

Questions

Common reservation questions.

Do I need a pilot's license to fly TA_AERO 01?

+

No. TA_AERO 01 is engineered to fall within FAR Part 103, the FAA's ultralight category, which requires no pilot certificate, medical, or aircraft registration. Mandatory training is included with every delivery regardless.

What safety systems does TA_AERO 01 carry?

+

A whole-aircraft ballistic recovery parachute ships as standard equipment, layered on top of independent motor/ESC redundancy across all four rotor arms and real-time envelope protection from the onboard flight computer.

Where is the aircraft built, and how does import work?

+

TA_AERO 01 is manufactured by our partner in China. TheArsenale handles U.S. customs clearance, import documentation, and a pre-delivery inspection against Part 103 weight limits before your aircraft reaches you.

Is my deposit refundable?

+

Reservation terms, including deposit amount and refundability, are detailed in the Reservation Agreement sent after you submit a reservation request. Review it carefully before completing payment.

What does the price include?

+

Listed MSRP covers the base aircraft in the selected configuration. Shipping, import duties, and tariffs are additional and vary by destination — our team confirms your landed cost before final payment.

Where can I legally fly it?

+

Part 103 ultralights may not be flown over congested areas and must operate under visual flight rules, with airspace authorization required where applicable. Buyers are responsible for confirming local and state requirements before flight.
